Sustainability Week Showcases Product Innovation, People and Community Focus
(UCBJ) – Portobello America will celebrate its 46th global anniversary on Tuesday, June 16, while also launching its inaugural Sustainability Week at its Baxter manufacturing facility.
“Tuesday also marks the official rollout of Portobello America’s new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Foundation,” according to a release. “This event highlights Portobello’s continued strategic investment in the region.”
Since opening the $160 million, nearly 1-million-square-foot facility, Portobello has created over 200 jobs and built a localized supply chain that transforms Tennessee raw materials into world-class ceramic tile. The foundation is a strategic framework designed to guide the company’s long-term sustainability and growth initiatives, according to a release.
The event highlights both the company’s continued investment and long-term commitment in Putnam County and the Upper Cumberland. Sustainability Week will continue June 16–18.
According to a release by the company, the foundation focuses on three core pillars:
- Product: Sustainable innovation, technical transparency and rigorous product certifications
- People & Community: Enhancing employee safety and well-being while strengthening local engagement, including the unveiling of a new façade art installation by local artist Brittany Finch
- Business: Building long-term trust and strengthening relationships with customers and the architectural and design community
Tuesday’s kickoff also marks the formal rollout of the company’s new ESG Foundation, which leadership describes as a framework guiding long-term sustainability, operational responsibility and continued regional investment.
As part of the event, the company will unveil a new façade art installation by local artist Brittany Finch, “underscoring its emphasis on community connection and creative collaboration.”
