Lace up your sneakers and prepare to get soaked for a great cause!

The 2025 Summer Splash 5K is set for Saturday, June 21, at 6 p.m., starting near the Exceptional Bean parking area on North Walnut Avenue. This high-energy, family-friendly race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

Hosted by the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation, the event raises funds for the Upper Cumberland Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, which provides financial support to residents facing a cancer diagnosis. Participants are encouraged to race in honor or memory of loved ones impacted by cancer and to register as teams, families or community groups.

Held annually in memory of Sarah Alice Bagci, a beloved Putnam County educator who died of lymphoma in 2010, the Summer Splash 5K celebrates community, compassion and movement. It is also part of the Run the Cumberlands Race Series, making it a favorite among both casual and competitive runners.

True to its name, the course features cooling misting zones and optional drench stations, adding an extra splash of fun to a meaningful evening.

Register by June 6 to secure an optional race T-shirt. Teams of three or more receive a registration discount when signing up online at www.cookevilleregionalcharity.org.

This year’s presenting sponsors include Roland Digital Media and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available and include promotional recognition, race-day signage, T-shirt inclusion and volunteer engagement.

Do not miss this chance to make a splash for a great cause, register today and run for someone you love!
