Averitt, one of the Upper Cumberland’s largest employers and a national leader in transportation and supply chain solutions, is celebrating its 55th anniversary with the release of a special video recognizing its associates and their role in the company’s long‑standing success.
The anniversary video blends historic footage, milestone achievements, and personal messages to showcase the people who have shaped the company since Gary Sasser purchased it in 1971. The project reflects Averitt’s deep roots in the Upper Cumberland, its local customer base and the region’s workforce, which has powered the company’s growth for more than five decades.
“Over the last 55 years, every achievement we’ve reached and every challenge we’ve overcome is a direct result of our philosophy: ‘Our Driving Force is People,’” said Sasser, who serves as the company’s chairman and CEO. “This video is our way of saying thank you to our associates and our customers. Averitt isn’t just a company; it’s a team, and we’ve built something truly special together. We’re proud of our past, and we’re even more excited for our future.”
