AJC has jobs, needs workers

COOKEVILLE – The Upper Cumberland American Job Center has plenty of jobs available but can’t find workers to fill the positions. AJC will try to find people for those slots by hosting its first Virtual Regional Hiring Event on Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST utilizing the Premier Virtual platform.

Premier Virtual is a very user-friendly virtual event platform that allows an employer to construct a “booth” that jobseekers can visit during their time at the event. This platform allows the inclusion of videos about participating companies, business biographical information, links to useful information on company websites, and most of all, the capability to post job openings employers are seeking to fill. Employers can have direct contact with jobseekers through recruiting staff using chat and video conferencing technology incorporated in the platform. The real beauty of this platform is that no one has to be in the same physical location!

While the Upper Cumberland AJC can accommodate as many employers and jobseekers as want to participate there is a request for some engagement prior to the event.

Jobseekers need to go to https://portal.premiervirtual.com/event/register-jobseeker/4249-upper-cumberland-virtual-fair and register to participate. This is also the link that will gain a jobseeker access to the event on Feb. 17. Following registration jobseekers can create an online profile with a photo, basic information and most importantly resumes can be uploaded for use during the event. It is required that resumes be saved as pdf files and then uploaded through the profile editing page. During the event jobseekers can visit the virtual booths of every employer that interests them, interact with live recruiters, apply for open positions through resume submission and possibly even interview.

If anyone needs assistance with creating a resume or brushing up on interviewing skills please contact your local AJC for assistance, 931-520-6020, or go to the Tennessee Virtual AJC, https://www.tnvirtualajc.com.
