UCB Brief: Grand opening set for Crossville’s Big South Fork Visitor Center

CROSSVILLE – A welcome center that will serve as a “gateway” to Big South Fork is ready for its official debut.

The Gateway to the Big South Fork Visitor Center, located at 176 River Otter Drive in Crossville, will be christened during a grand opening hosted by the Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, April 17. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the opening will continue until 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

It’s the hope the center will help direct interstate traffic to nearby Big South Fork, one of the region’s top recreation areas, as well as promote other local attractions. Cumberland County and the city of Crossville will share the center’s annual operating expenses – which has a total budgeted amount of $85,000 – and the chamber will manage the facility.
