COOKEVILLE – Wilson Bank & Trust (WB&T) will begin the New Year with a celebration. The Lebanon-based bank will officially open its new permanent office location in Cookeville with a ribbon cutting ceremony Sunday, Jan. 3.

The branch building, located at 320 S. Jefferson Ave., is a 5,000-square-foot facility that incorporates some of the latest capabilities in bank design and technology and features amenities like community meeting space and free customer Wi-Fi.

WB&T will introduce guests to its new home with a ribbon cutting and celebration from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 3, and the public is invited to attend. The festivities will include opportunities to open a treasure chest for a free money grab, a grand opening tradition at WB&T for many years.

That event will be followed by a week of grand opening activities, including an open house Monday and special luncheons for specific segments of the community Tuesday-Friday.

“We are very pleased to have a banking home in Putnam County that’s in line with the level of service we seek to provide for our customers every day,” WB&T CEO Randall Clemons said in a release. “The new building is a place people will enjoy visiting, a warm and inviting environment where our friendly, knowledgeable banking team can offer every possible option in financial services.”

Wilson Bank & Trust has operated from a temporary storefront in Cookeville at 701 E. Spring St. since it opened in early 2015. It broke ground on the South Jefferson location in the spring.

“I can’t imagine a better welcome than the one I’ve experienced in Putnam County over the past several months, personally and professionally,” said Philip Clemmons, who was named Cookeville office manager in July. “Our staff is excited about the opportunity to better serve our customers in a brand new building, and we look forward to getting to know even more of our neighbors in the community as we continue to grow.”

The new building opens for business Jan. 4, and office lobby hours will be 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays. The drive-thru will be open until 5 p.m. every weekday. The new office is accessible from Lowe Avenue as well as South Jefferson.

Wilson Bank & Trust is an independent, locally owned bank established in 1987. WB&T currently operates 26 full-service offices in seven Middle Tennessee counties, including DeKalb and Smith in the Upper Cumberland, offering a full range of financial products that include secondary market mortgage loans and online banking services.
