Families will also be invited to visit PBS KIDS tents within the pool area

WCTE PBS is inviting the region to beat the heat and dive into a day of fun and learning at the Annual WCTE PBS Pool Party July 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gilley Pool in McMinnville.

“Thanks to generous sponsorship from Ben Lomand Connect and Ascend, this event is free and open to the public, with complimentary admission for children 12 and under,” according to WCTE.

Now a cherished tradition, WCTE PBS’s pool party blends summer fun with community connection and early childhood enrichment.

The event features:

  • Free book giveaways to encourage summer reading
  • Poolside PBS KIDS Bingo with educational prizes
  • Photo ops with PBS character cutouts and themed backdrops
  • Free popsicles for all young attendees

Access to the Gilley Pool’s water features, including:

  • a zero-entry splash area
  • spray cannons
  • water slide

Families will also be invited to visit PBS KIDS tents within the pool area to learn more about WCTE’s PBS KIDS Club Membership, which supports lifelong learning at home and in the community.

“We love that WCTE PBS can offer free events like this that bring families together

around learning, play and connection,” said Sarah Savage, WCTE PBS’s Education and Engagement Coordinator. “We’re deeply grateful to Ben Lomand Connect and Ascend for their ongoing support, and we extend a special thanks to McMinnville Parks and Recreation for hosting us at the Gilley Pool.”

This pool party reflects WCTE PBS’s enduring commitment to strengthening the community through educational programming and outreach that empowers children and families across the Upper Cumberland region.
