“Upgrades are customer focused” – Walmart
Recently, Walmart in Cookeville decided to shake things up. Well, I’m guessing corporate decided, but either way the store has been remodeled, and this Friday the public is invited to celebrate the new look retail king at 768 S. Jefferson Avenue.
The event kicks off Aug. 9 at 9 a.m.
“The celebration will include announcements of brand-new store upgrades and transformations, donation check presentations to the All in Youth Sports, This is Living Ministries and Cookeville Rescue Mission and more,” according to a release by the company.
Walmart says the upgrades are customer focused and include:
- New signage, fixtures and LED lighting throughout the entire store to improve accessibility and create an easier shopping experience
- Interior transformation, including an expanded Clothing department with elevated brands and apparel, new 20,000-square-foot Pickup and Delivery section and state-of-the-art Electronics department with new interactive displays
- A new mural created by a local artist that reflects the culture and community of Cookeville
- And more!
Local officials, community leaders and Walmart employees will be on hand.
Attendees will include:
- Cookeville Walmart manager Tammy Hordos and team
- Walmart market manager Monique Copeland
- Community members, customers
- Cookeville Mayor Laurin Wheaton
- Cookeville Police Department
- Cookeville Fire Department
- Tennessee Tech University representatives
