Clay County still sits at highest unemployment number in region

There wasn’t much change in the Upper Cumberland’s Unemployment numbers in July, but the number did improve slightly across the board. Warren County dropped from 4.5% to 4.3% last month. Elsewhere in the Upper Cumberland, DeKalb dropped to 4.5% from 4.7% in June, while Cannon County sits at 3.2%, and Clay decreased from 5.5% to 5.4% in July.

Fentress County landed at 3.8%. Jackson sat at 4.4% in July while Macon County landed at 3.3%. Overton County stands at 3.6%, and Putnam County’s number decreased slightly to 3.5%.

Smith landed at 2.9% while Van Buren sits at a 4.2%, slightly down from 5% in June. Warren County landed at 4.3%. White County sits at 3.7% while Pickett dropped to 4%, down from 3.7% and Cumberland sits at 4.2%.
