UCMS issues statement on TDH’s vaccine program

UPPER CUMBERLAND – The Upper Cumberland Medical Society (UCMS) and its president, Dawn M. Barlow, MD, have issued the following statement regarding the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH)’s vaccine outreach programs.

“The Upper Cumberland Medical Society (UCMS) has been closely following recent developments in the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH)’s vaccine outreach programs.

We support the TDH’s continued provision of evidence-based information related to COVID-19 vaccines and routine childhood vaccinations. An informed public is essential for a healthy Upper Cumberland.

We support our public health professionals in their duties to make life-saving vaccinations accessible to all eligible Tennesseans. We thank them for their dedicated service.

We encourage adults, as well as parents of children 12 and older, to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine with their healthcare provider. Access to vaccinations for adults and children remain available through local health departments.”
