Todd Warner has brought the bill back, it will move through the proper channels

According to a report by WKRN in Nashville, A bill that would allow Nashville International Airport to be renamed for President Donald Trump has been revived after previously being removed from consideration by State Rep. Todd Warner.

Once a bill is “taken off notice” it will not be considered by the general assembly. But, since Warner has brought the bill back, it will move through the proper channels before being heard on the Chamber Floor. It must pass through committees first, however.

Many Nashville Lawmakers oppose the idea, but Warner noted that all of Tennessee supported funding for the airport, not just Nashville.

From WKRN:

“He got 65% of the vote the last three elections in this state,” Warner said.
An amendment for the bill filed Monday, March 10, makes note of the $23 million appropriated in state funds for the airport in the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Bedford County Republican State Rep. Pat Marsh (R-Shelbyville) supports the idea of renaming an airport, but she says the Nashville airport is too small.

From WKRN:

“We should name LAX or Chicago or Atlanta [for him],” Marsh said.
