Store is owned by sisters Sharon York and Janet Wilson
The Charlotte, a locally owned boutique specializing in home decor, jewelry, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories store in Monterey recently held its official ribbon cutting.
The store is owned by sisters Sharon York and Janet Wilson. The sisters named the store after another sister Charlotte McCowan.
“The building itself is one of the most iconic landmarks in Monterey, the home to Bishop Drugstore and Goff Drugstore in years past,” according to a statement by Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter.
Porter says the renovation is beautiful.
“Stop by and see the specialty boutique for all things beautiful and unique,” according to Porter.
Monterey Cultural Administrator Rafferty Cleary posted this on Facebook:
Big congratulations to Janet Wilson and Sharon Qualls York on the ribbon cutting of their beautiful new specialty shop, The Charlotte today!
It was truly inspiring to witness this special moment for two incredibly dedicated and passionate sisters.
Janet and Sharon, your commitment to helping build a stronger Monterey community shines through in everything you do. Your hard work and vision for "The Charlotte" will undoubtedly enrich our town and offer something truly unique.
This venture is especially meaningful as it honors the memory of their sister, Charlotte, who passed away in 2022. For me personally, Charlotte was one of my biggest supporters, and I will always be thankful for her encouragement and belief. It's clear that her legacy of kindness and support lives on through Janet and Sharon. Welcome to the Monterey business community, "The Charlotte"!
Located at 101 Commercial Avenue in Monterey, Charlotte is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
