Spectrum Internet with speeds Up to 1 Gig now available to nearly 2,700 homes and small businesses

Spectrum has launched Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to nearly 2,700 homes and small businesses in Cumberland County. Spectrum has invested more than $7 billion in private investment and will soon add 100,000 miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure, according to the company.

“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Tennessee and across America,” said Tim Williams, Vice President of Construction at Spectrum. “Our investment is making it possible to deliver the high-value broadband, mobile, TV and voice services now available in Cumberland County. We are providing local residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service.”

The company claims its internet “delivers speeds up to 1 Gbps.” Those speeds should improve WiFi for homes and businesses alike throughout the county.

According to the FCC’s most recent “Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report,” Spectrum Internet has “exceeded advertised download and upload speeds for all tiers measured.”

“Cumberland County has been an incredible example of how the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund program is delivering results and helping more Tennesseans get connected to high-speed broadband,” said State House Speaker Cameron Sexton. “Thanks to this effective public-private partnership, Spectrum has activated service to nearly 2,700 homes and small businesses through its rural broadband expansion initiative with more currently in progress. We appreciate Spectrum’s continued commitment to closing the digital divide across our state.”
