Victim was life-flighted to a Nashville hospital
According to reports, a recent shooting at the Midnight Express strip club at the 3000 block of Sparta Highway in DeKalb County has led to an ongoing investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. A suspect, 40-year-old James Barsotti of Pleasant Shade, TN, allegedly shot an employee of the establishment in the club’s parking lot, according to the TBI.
First responders and Medivac were dispatched to the location soon after, where they discovered the victim inside the establishment.
According to the report, the TBI has said Barsotti was identified as the shooter at the scene, and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged Barsotti with one count of attempted second-degree murder.
The victim was life-flighted to a Nashville hospital, and at last report remains in treatment. Barsotti was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on a $300,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 29, 2025, according to the report.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
