Mini Burger (MB) was a staple at that location for more than 50 years

Cookeville – Scotty D’s (SD), home of the TNT plate (a choice of two to four sides and a choice of meat), officially opened its doors Tuesday at 310 W Broad Street in Cookeville.

Mini Burger (MB) was a staple at that location for more than 50 years before closing its doors due to “financial struggles” in August. In September, New York natives Scotty and Donna Danzig scooped up the location with plans to open SD.

At the time, MB said the closure came with a heavy heart.

“After an incredible 50-plus years, it’s with a mix of nostalgia and gratitude that we announced the closure of our very own “small mom and pop burger shop” that we love,” said the burger joint via Facebook. “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of creating lasting memories sharing heartwarming stories and forging deep friendships within this community.”

SD features booths and bar stool seating like Mini Burger, and there are also plans for a drive-thru. Along with familiar favorites and the TNT Plate, SD also offers soft serve ice cream.
