Roane State’s Fentress County Campus to kick off new semester in larger Clarkrange facility

CLARKRANGE – The Fentress County campus of Roane State Community College has moved into a new location to accommodate growing student enrollment.

Previously at York Institute in Jamestown, the campus is now located in a much larger facility in the Clarkrange community. The new address is 6844 South York Highway, Clarkrange, TN 38553.

Extensive remodeling and upgrading of the 8,000-square-foot building began last November and the new campus will open for the first day of classes on August 19.

The York Institute site had two classrooms and a computer lab along with office space. The new facility features a large computer lab, study spaces and several offices, along with four classrooms that are all “Zoom Rooms,” where students can use technology to view professors’ lectures at other Roane State sites in a distance learning format.

Roane State at Fentress County now offers numerous general classes and several elective courses, and it’s expected more classes will be made available with the relocation.
