The number remained strong from March

Putnam County – In Putnam County there were 35 permits issued for a total of $6.9 million worth of construction. Twenty of those were for new single-family residential homes.

That number remained strong from March, but was down from April 2022 in which 46 permits were issued for $9.2 million. Twenty two of those were single-family homes.

“April 2022 had 8 commercial permits which made it a larger month,” said Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter.

In 2022’s fiscal year, which runs from July to June, the total number of permits issued has been 300 for 63.4 million in construction with 181 of those being new single-family homes. These numbers do not include the cities of Algood, Baxter, Cookeville and Monterey.
