Shoe Station (SS) is opening April 5 at 1265 Interstate Drive in Cookeville in The Shoppes at Eagle Point

Formerly Shoe Carnival (SC), SS has 431 stores nationwide. In 2001, SC acquired the assets of privately held, family-owned Shoe Station, Inc.

“Exciting news! Shoe Station is celebrating the GRAND OPENING of our newest store in Cookeville, Tennessee on April 5th! Come in store for giveaways, exclusive, deals, and $25 off your purchase of $100 or more! See you there,” said the company in an announcement.

Last year, the first rebranding tests of select SC locations to SS was a success, according to the company.

“We are excited to welcome Shoe Station to the Shoe Carnival team,” said Mark Worden, Shoe Carnival’s President and Chief Executive Officer at the time. “Coming on the heels of our best quarter of our best year in our 43-year history, this deal accelerates our journey toward becoming a multi-billion-dollar retailer in the years ahead.”

SS operates stores in five Southeastern states. At the time of purchase, SC acquired all SS assets for $67 million.

“Shoe Carnival brings infrastructure and financial backing to significantly accelerate our Shoe Station brand growth,” said G. Brent Barkin, the Company’s Senior Vice President of New Business Development & Integration. “Taken together, the two brands create a winning customer value proposition. We are delighted to become part of Shoe Carnival, and I cannot wait to partner with Mark and his talented team to unlock more exciting opportunities to come.”

SC operates 431 stores in 36 states and employs over 500 people. SS has 21 locations in six Southeastern states – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana and now Tennessee. The Cookeville location is part of a strategy to see the viability of SS in the south, Tennessee and medium markets.
