U.S. business outlook in February 2026 maintained expansion
In Putnam County, 55 new business listings were added in February. 40 of those were for manufacturing, and the other 15 were for retail. The U.S. business outlook in February 2026 maintained expansion, but it was a bit slower with the services-sector holding strong.
Manufacturing growth slowed nationally as demand lessened.
But, according to reports, consumer confidence is improving and economic growth raised 2.8% while service sector business hit a 3.5 year high despite forecasts of a slowdown, and manufacturing saw its weakest growth in seven months.
According to ADP data, private companies added 63,000 jobs in February. Slow growth, but still growth.
