Events such as the Leadership Putnam project are key to driving the future of health care
On June 13, Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) will celebrate a ribbon cutting for the new CRMC Foundation Monarch Garden located at the CRMC Cancer Center.
The event will begin at 11 a.m., and the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be present for the occasion.
“This project was created by the 2025 Leadership Putnam class and made possible through the generous support of sponsors Domestic, Geoff Root, United Rentals, Recreational Concepts, Petal & Rake – Serina Wells and Johnson Nursery & Garden Center,” according to the Chamber.
The community event will unveil the special space designed to “bring beauty and comfort to those on their healing journey.”
CRMC is in the early stages of a new partnership that began as recently as this past summer. As per the agreement, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center oncologists and other professionals will be the exclusive providers of cancer services for Cookeville’s hospital.
CRMC CEO Buffy Key states that partnerships like this and community events such as the Leadership Putnam project are key to driving the future of health care. However, it is about much more than that. These patients are struggling physically and mentally.
A community showing those patients they are important and that “None of us will get out of the health care system alone,” she said.
