COOKEVILLE – January’s biggest real estate deal has cleared the way for a new FedEx Ground Package facility to join the growth surrounding Cookeville’s newest interstate interchange at Tennessee Avenue.

The 48.56 acres at 4676 Tennessee Avenue brought $2.4 million and was purchased by WESTCO SRB LLC and WESTCO SRB II LLC, and all but one of the residential buildings on the property have been removed.

The facility will feature a 240,000-square-foot warehouse with an 11,000-square-foot office and approximately a 4,000-square-foot vehicle maintenance garage. This facility is designed by Castles Design Group, PLLC and is being constructed by Nashville contractor, T.W. Frierson.

The developer for this project, The Westmoreland Group of Huntsville, Ala., also has several other FedEx Ground facilities under construction around the Southeast.
