Smithville – Every time you scroll through Instagram reels you see it.
Jeb Ross sliding his feet and rotating his knees to the sound of fiddle music has become an often-viral sight since his first video went viral back in 2022. If ever there was a match made in heaven it would be the Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree (Jamboree) and Ross’s clogging crew the J Creek Cloggers (Cloggers).
That match is set to become a reality on June 30.
“J Creek Cloggers and Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree are proud to announce their partnership for the 52nd Annual Celebration Friday, June 30 at 7 p.m.,” said the Jamboree in a release. “The two organizations will collaborate to bring an exciting lineup of music and dance performances to Downtown Smithville.”

The Jamboree is an annual event in Smithville that brings together musicians, dancers and craftsmen from across the country for a single showcase of Appalachian music and craft over the Fourth of July weekend.
This year the event will feature over 36 music and dance categories.
“J Creek Cloggers is a renowned clogging group that has entertained audiences since 2009,” said the Jamboree. “Founded on the ideals of education, community and inclusiveness to bring joy to the masses through freestyle group clogging. Today, much like the Jamboree, they are working together to preserve the art of clogging through a community of young and old that will draw the dancer out of everyone.”
Kim Ross of the Cloggers says the mission is clear.
“The J Creek Cloggers’ mission is to preserve freestyle clogging and old-time/bluegrass music while spreading joy and happiness,” said Ross.
The Jamboree says they are excited to welcome the world-famous dancers.
“We are thrilled to partner with J Creek Cloggers for this year’s festival,” said President Kim Luton. “Their high-energy performances are sure to be a hit with our audiences.”
The Jamboree is sponsored by Hyundai of Cookeville and will be held June 30 – July 1 2023.
