Stonehaus recently responded to the rumor that it was going out of business

According to reports, a Weigel’s will replace Chestnut Hill Winery on Peavine Road in Crossville and has also presented a final plat and site plan for a Genesis Road location, according to the Crossville Planning Commission. Stonehaus Winery, on the other hand, may be on the move (its current location at 2444 Genesis Road is up for sale), but is not closing, according to the company.

If sold, however, Weigels can swoop in and build a second new store and car wash. Stonehaus recently responded to the rumor that it was going out of business on social media:

Here are the facts.
1. The property is for sale.
2. Nothing finalized.
3. Stonehaus Winery will still be in business, no matter what.
4. Statewide distribution will continue and wine will be available.
5. For 35 years, we’ve been a family-run business, and we sincerely appreciate our customers.

“You will be happy to know we ARE NOT going out of business,” according to the Stonehaus.

So, there you have it. Even with the property under contract to be sold, Stonehaus Winery will continue to serve fine wine, regardless of location. That is great news for the Upper Cumberland.
