Conference is not only about educating future nurses, but helping our community better understand

The Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation (CRCF) is partnering with the Tennessee Tech University Whitson-Hester School of Nursing to host a Hospice & Palliative Care Conference Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at the TTU School of Nursing.

The community-wide event is free and open to the public.

According to CRMC, “there is a special invitation extended to TTU nursing students and health care professionals throughout the Upper Cumberland.”

“The conference will bring together physicians, nurses, chaplains, and community leaders to provide both expert insight and real-world perspective on hospice and palliative care,” according to a release by CRMC.

Hospice

Topics will include:

  • The difference between palliative and hospice services
  • Transitions of care
  • Bedside caregiving
  • Holistic approaches to end-of-life
  • How to best support families during life’s most challenging seasons

“Our goal is to create a welcoming space for learning and conversation,” said John Bell, Executive Director of CRMC Foundation. “This conference is not only about educating future nurses, but also about helping our community better understand the compassionate care and dignity hospice and palliative medicine provide.”

“The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the TTU, Whitson Hester School of Nursing, 10 W 7th St, Cookeville. The conference is free of charge. Seating is limited and early arrival is encouraged,” according to CRMC.
