First Horizon names Ward as Cookeville Market Leader

COOKEVILLE – First Horizon Bank has promoted veteran banker Rick Ward to lead the Cookeville market. Ward will be responsible for the bank’s local market strategy around client acquisition, community investment and commercial business development. Ward recently celebrated his 12th anniversary with the company and was previously Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager for the bank. 

“The Upper Cumberland is an important market for our company,” Richard Shaffer, Regional President of the Community Region said. “With nearly 33 years of experience in the financial services industry, Rick has shown that he is a proven leader and will add tremendous value in this new role as we look to grow the market.”   

Ward holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama and is a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking. A dedicated supporter of the community, he serves on the board of directors for the Upper Cumberland Community Tennis Association, is an ambassador for the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of trustees and staff parish relations for Cookeville First United Methodist Church.
