New location is more convenient and expanded to better serve customers

Cookeville – On Friday, Jan. 13, First Bank of Cookeville reached journey’s end with the opening of the newest branch at 749 S. Willow Ave. in Cookeville. Branch manager Ian Robson told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal (UCBJ) the process was filled with setbacks, but the First Bank team worked together to overcome.

“Moving branches took a lot of teamwork,” said Robson. “So many moving parts, but we worked together, and we were able to make it happen on Friday the 13th of all days.”

According to Robson, the bank planned to start building the Cookeville branch at the beginning of 2020, but plans changed when the pandemic began. The move was pushed back two years before ground was broken in 2021.

“We love Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland,” said Robson. “We have a branch in Crossville and Smithville, and we take pride in supporting the communities we live in. We want to support the small businesses and the families that make this a great place to live.”

Robson says the new location is more convenient and expanded to better serve customers.

“I think we found a great location. It’s very visible and the ease of access being at the red light makes it very convenient,” said Robson. “We will continue to grow our footprint in the Upper Cumberland with future locations.”

First Bank’s mission is clear, according to Robson.

“Our mission has been to help people build a better future,” he said. “Whatever we can do to come alongside the people in our community and lend a hand to build a better place for them to call home.”

Growth is the goal. Robson wants people to know First Bank is there to help achieve goals.

“FirstBank is a relationship bank. We have a team of seasoned bankers from this community who have served this community for years, and we will continue to do that,” said Robson. “It’s all about building relationships, serving and helping.”
