COOKEVILLE – Ficosa North America, Putnam County’s newest manufacturer, is offering a part-time work program for higher education students looking to get paid and gain onsite experience while also working toward their degrees – and interested applicants will have an opportunity to see the plant and learn more during an event later this week.

Ficosa offered four introductory sessions earlier this month and will repeat that program Friday, June 17. Times for the session is 2 p.m. Students who wish to enroll should send resumes to FicosaJobs.Crossville@ficosa.com, attention Macey Kendall.

The sessions are open to part-time (no less than six hours) and full-time (six hours or more) students enrolled at four-year universities, junior/community colleges, vocational education facilities and online credit achievement programs. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED, must be at least 18-years-old and must be authorized to work in the U.S.

More sessions are expected to be announced in the near future. Those who cannot attend Friday are encouraged to send their resumes for future sessions

Ficosa’s new Cookeville production plant, located at 2991 Highlands Park Drive, will cover 270,000 square feet. The company plans to hire hundreds and produce nearly five million high-tech automotive products – chiefly adaptive rear-view mirrors – for tier-one automotive manufacturers. Officials expect to celebrate a grand opening this fall.
