COOKEVILLE – Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is partnering with Cookeville Urology to offer low-cost prostate screenings for men 55 and older. Appointments will be offered from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 20, at Cookeville Urology’s practice at 254 W. Seventh St. in Cookeville.
According to the American Urological Association, men without symptoms and ages 55-69 benefit from routine prostate screenings. Men younger than 55 or older than 69 who are worried about their personal risk factors should talk with their health care provider to determine whether prostate cancer screening is appropriate for them.
CRMC will be offer a PSA test (prostate-specific antigen) for $15. Urologist Timothy Collins, M.D., will offer a DRE (digital rectal exam) for free.
