Pizzeria has more than 14,400 locations
This Thursday, May 15, Domino’s is adding another restaurant to its portfolio, this one in Monterey. People are excited.
“Get ready, Monterey! Domino’s is officially opening this Thursday,” said Rafferty Cleary, Cultural Administrator at Town of Monterey, TN, in a statement.
The pie shop, although part of one of the largest franchises, is locally run.
“This isn’t just another franchise; it’s being run by a local individual who has a proven track record of deeply caring about his employees and the communities where he establishes his businesses throughout our region,” according to Cleary.
Owner Jon Powers is a local entrepreneur who wants to invest “in Monterey, creating opportunities, and becoming a part of our community fabric.”
“Monterey TN, the countdown is on!!! Grand Opening Thursday May 15th at 10:30am. Big shout out to my DREAM TEAM! Delaney Austin our Innovation Leader for making sure this store is on the cutting edge of technology! This guy can do it all! Shayna Reece and Lisa Andrews taking time away from their 8 stores to make sure this grand opening is perfect! Brittany Tramont our VP of Operations, that helps me keep it ALL together and there is not a better one in the business,” said Powers in a Facebook post.
The pizza giant’s first shop opened in 1960 in Michigan, known then as DomNicks. Owned by two brothers, in 1965, the Pizzeria had gained tremendous popularity and was renamed Domino’s. By 1978, there were 200 Domino’s; by 1989, 5,000.
Today, Domino’s has more than 14,400 locations, serving more than 1 million pizzas a day, in more than 85 countries.
“Let’s all give a warm Monterey welcome to Domino’s this Thursday! Be sure to stop by, check out their menu, and support this exciting new addition to our town. It’s not just pizza; it’s a sign of growth and a testament to the kind of community Monterey is,” according to Cleary.
Located at 124 E Commercial Avenue in Monterey, Domino’s is open Sun to Thursday 10:30 a.m. to Midnight and 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday night.
