Cookeville ranked 13th in last year’s top 25 U-Haul growth Cities
Dallas, TX is once again the leading metro and Ocala the leading city on Uhauls growth index for 2025.
But, Cookeville is still on the list too. Last year, Cookeville cracked the top fifteen on the migration trends list, and this year the Micropolitan ranks 24th. These cities are netting the most one-way U-Haul customers.
“When it comes to cities luring U-Haul customers, Florida again rules the roost. The Sunshine State has eight of the top 10 growth cities and 12 of the top 25 for the past year,” according to a release by Uhaul. “North Port, Kissimmee and Clermont join Ocala as Florida growth cities in the top five, along with Myrtle Beach, S.C. Texas has four city propers make the list, while Idaho has two.
Several smaller cities made their U-Haul Growth Index debuts such as:
- St. Augustine, Fla.
- Seguin, Texas
- Leesburg, Fla.
- Garner, N.C.
- Lacey, Wash.

According to a release by the company, “U-Haul ranks metropolitan areas and city propers by their net gain (or loss) of customers who rented a one-way truck, trailer or U-Box® moving containers in one metro or city proper and dropped off their equipment in another metro or city proper. Interstate and intrastate transactions are included.”
Cookeville ranked 13th in the 2024 top 25 U-Haul growth Cities (city propers outside the top metros), according to a release by the company that announced its top 25 U.S. growth cities.
