2025 numbers came in with 429 permits
According to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter, 2025 set a record for building construction in Putnam County.
“The previous record was set in 2022 with 407 permits for $90.3 million. 2025 numbers came in with 429 permits for $103.2 million, the first year to ever cross the $100 million mark,” according to Porter.
December construction in Putnam County had 24 permits for $5.67 million. 12 of those were for new single-family homes.
“In comparison, Dec. 2024 had 22 permits for $5.4 million with 14 of those being new single-family homes,” according to Porter.
December, which is normally considered to be one of the slower months due to weather conditions, generated $19,991 in fees. The numbers are for the County, and they do not include any of the four cities.
