CityScape presented two distinguished awards
Cookeville CityScape has announced its 2025 award recipients during a special ceremony held on Wednesday evening, Dec. 3. The annual recognition honors individuals and businesses whose contributions “strengthen the character, vitality and future of downtown Cookeville,” according to a release by the organization.
“Each year, these awards allow us to highlight the people and businesses that make our downtown exceptional,” said Executive Director, Ferran Kefauver. “Our award winners truly exemplify the mission of the awards. Their dedication and vision that strengthen our community. We were honored to recognize them.”
CityScape presented two distinguished awards.
“Cookeville CityScape extends its heartfelt congratulations to this year’s honorees and its appreciation for their continued service to the community,” according to CityScape.
Lifetime Achievement Award: Jay Albrecht
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to pioneers in downtown historic preservation who have set the standards for others in our community.
“Jay Albrecht was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his longstanding dedication, leadership and impact on the Cookeville downtown community. His contributions have helped shape and enrich the cultural and economic landscape of the area, leaving a legacy that will benefit generations to come. Jay and his family have supported and poured into Downtown Cookeville and CityScape since the inception of the organization,” according to CityScape.
Legacy Award: Fire & Vine, Owned by Barry and Molly Reese
The Legacy Award is presented to a building owner who has done substantial renovations following the guidelines of historic preservation.
“Fire & Vine received the 2025 Legacy Award, celebrating the restaurant’s continued commitment to excellence, community engagement and downtown revitalization. Owners Barry and Molly Reese have cultivated a welcoming establishment that reflects the spirit of Cookeville while contributing to the city’s growth and vibrancy. The rooftop experience that Fire and Vine provides elevates dining in Cookeville,” according to CityScape.
