22 permits for $3.9M worth of construction were issued within the county

Putnam County – Construction permits in January were better than expected, according to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter.

“January 2024 was overall a good month for construction, considering all the bad weather we had in Putnam County,” said Porter.

In January, 22 permits for $3.9M worth of construction were issued within the county. Sixteen of those were for single-family homes.

“In comparison, January 2023 had 20 permits for $4.9 million with 11 of those being new single-family homes. January permits generated $16,270 in fees which operates the Building Codes Department,” said Porter.

These are numbers for Putnam County and do not include any of the four cities.
