Six local businesses and the 2023 Ambassador of the Year were honored

“Individually, we are nothing. But together, we are everything.”

Those were the words of Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) President Amy New at the organization’s 2024 annual meeting in Cookeville. According to the Chamber, the 2024 meeting “made a profound and lasting impression” on the over 400 community members present as the Chamber explored its mission and vision and celebrated the successes of 2023.

2024 goals were outlined, and new leadership announced.

“We welcomed Jay Albrecht as our new Chairman of the Board, extending our sincere gratitude to Dr. Phil Oldham for his dedicated service as Chairman in 2023,” said the Chamber.

Six local businesses and the 2023 Ambassador of the Year, Kim Carmack Taylor, were honored.

The Old Gray won Attraction of the Year.

“In just two years, The Old Gray has completely shaken up Putnam County’s entertainment scene and the Upper Cumberland,” according to the Chamber.

Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation was honored with the Community Enhancement Award.

“They provide vital support to Upper Cumberland residents facing health challenges and contribute to enhancing health care programs in our community.’” said the Chamber.

Twin Lakes is the recipient of this year’s Economic Impact award.

“With their longstanding partnership with the Chamber and remarkable contributions to our community, Twin Lakes truly embodies excellence,” said the Chamber.

IWC Food Service was presented the Chamber’s Large Business of the Year award.

“Originating in Putnam County in 1957, this family-run enterprise has flourished into a cornerstone of our community. With close to 250 employees and a service area spanning the southeast, IWC’s commitment shines bright,” said the Chamber.

Just Breathe Oxygen & Medical Equipment was named Employer of the Year in the Small Business category due to its fantastic support of both the Chamber and the community, according to the Chamber.

Hidden Hollow Park was also celebrated with the Tourism Experience Award as “esteemed staples of our community.”
