COOKEVILLE – The best of the best. The cream of the crop. The crème de la crème. The Upper Cumberland’s annual Ovation Awards honor the top businesses and individuals in the region – and this year’s list is chocked full of entrepreneurs, best retailers and the finest eats in town, even if they’re a little off the beaten path.
Among the 29 total 2015 awardees, 20 are first timers. Ovations were awarded in seven categories overall, including:
- Spirit of Entrepreneurship
- Excellence in Manufacturing
- Excellence in Tourism Promotion
- Best Individual Citizen/Excellence in Leadership
- Favorite Restaurant
- Favorite Retail Establishment
- Excellence in Professional Services

It’s no secret that there’s a lot of ground to cover in the Upper Cumberland – but these awards really give us a chance to highlight not only the well-known companies and individuals, but those who are quietly making our region a better place to live, work and play. There’s definitely no shortage of creative, driven and talented people. They all should be proud to be included on this list.”
Ovation Award winners are nominated by Upper Cumberland Business Journal readers and selected by the UCBJ staff. The awards were first founded in 2008.
