Owners Pitch Fentress County Stop As Next Tennessee Tourism Feature
(UCBJ) – Birdies Lounge (BL), an entertainment venue that combines three indoor golf simulators, live music, sports, food, beer, tournaments, benefits and special events under one roof on Main Street in downtown Jamestown, opened in 2023.
According to BL owner, Byron Matthews, a former U.S. Air Force combat crew member, the venue was born of a simple idea.
“… People shouldn’t have to leave small-town Tennessee to find big-city entertainment.”
When the former Marine returned home, he was ready for a different challenge.
“… Building an entertainment destination in a rural Tennessee community,” Matthews said.
Matthews says the story is tourism and growth in the community he serves. BL has grown beyond Jamestown.
It generates hundreds of thousands of Facebook views, and its events continue to grow. To Matthews, the sky is the limit for both the growth of BL and the travel draw of a community the whole state will soon recognize as a must-see destination.
“Jamestown and Fentress County already attract visitors for the incredible outdoor recreation surrounding our community. Birdies gives those visitors somewhere to go when the day’s adventure ends, whether that’s playing a round of golf indoors, catching live music, watching a game, grabbing food or spending an evening downtown,” Matthews said.
Located at 113 N. Main St. in Jamestown, Birdies Lounge is open Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 931-879-4653 or visit HERE.
