New Signage to Guide Visitors Through Historic Downtown Square
(UCBJ) – The City of Livingston’s latest $100,000 Tourism Enhancement Grant will fund gateway, multidirectional, kiosk and historical wayfinding signage throughout the county.
The city says the signage will help direct visitors to the downtown square and “other tourism assets across the community.”
“Every visitor who stops here spends money at our restaurants, our shops, and our small businesses, and those dollars turn into local jobs and sales tax revenue that eases the burden on the families who live here year-round,” according to the Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce.
According to officials, Overton County has been missing a clear invitation for travelers to stop. The new signage will deliver that invitation.
“As the project wraps up, we look forward to watching visitors follow these signs from one corner of Overton County to the next and discover everything Livingston has to offer,” according to a release.
The project will continue to grow.
“Stay on the lookout, because there is more signage on the way throughout Overton County. This project would not be possible without the partnership and collaboration between the City of Livingston, Main Street Livingston, and the Chamber. Thank you to the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development for investing in our community,” according to the Chamber.
