Project Comes Shortly After Averitt Revealed Plans For New Facility In Charlotte, North Carolina
(UCBJ) — Cookeville-based transportation and supply chain management provider Averitt has announced plans to build a new regional campus in Louisville, Kentucky, marking a significant expansion of the company’s operations in one of the South’s key logistics markets.
The project comes shortly after Averitt revealed plans for a new facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will allow the company to add 64 associates over the next four years while maintaining its existing workforce of 182 associates in Louisville.
The new development will serve as the home of Averitt’s entire regional operation, bringing together all five of the company’s service units — less-than-truckload (LTL), truckload, dedicated, distribution and fulfillment, and integrated services — on a single, integrated campus.
The campus will feature:
- A two-story, 10,000-square-foot regional office with training and collaboration space
- A 50,000-square-foot, 100-door cross-dock, expandable to 160 doors
- More than 286,000 square feet of distribution and fulfillment warehouse space
- Parking for more than 300 trailers, along with fleet maintenance, fueling and driver support facilities designed to enhance the day-to-day experience of drivers
Construction is expected to begin immediately, with completion anticipated in 2028.
The new campus will replace Averitt’s existing 40,000-square-foot service center located at 4020 McCollum Court in Louisville. The company is celebrating its 44th year of operation in Bullitt County, having established its first local office there in 1982.
