Rezoning will allow 7 more units on the property when needed
Cookeville – The Cookeville City Council recently approved the rezoning of 1.3 acres of land located at 1068 E. 10th street in Cookeville, adjacent to CVS, from neighborhood commercial to local commercial.
“The rezoning request was submitted to increase the options for permitted use within the district,” said Director of Planning Jon Ward. “Specifically, multifamily housing.”
Ward said the current zoning restricts property use and rezoning will allow space for 7 more units on the property including office spaces or further townhome development.
The rezoning was unanimously approved following a motion by Councilman Ali Bagci and a second by Vice Mayor Luke Eldridge. Following the approval of the rezoning, a second reading by the city council will be held at a future date. When finalized, the process of shopping the lot will begin.
