Finalists selected for next president of TCAT McMinnville, campus forums set

MCMINNVILLE – Four finalists have been selected for the next president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at McMinnville. All four will participate in campus interviews and public forums on the McMinnville campus July 15, the next step in the presidential search.

The finalists are:

  • Dr. Ashley Allison, Upper Cumberland Assistant Director, Volunteer State Community College
  • Dr. Melody Edmonds, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Motlow State Community College
  • Mr. Michael Klouser, Vice President, Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville
  • Mr. Heath McMillian, Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development, Northeast State Community College (Regional Center of Advanced Manufacturing)

The forums will be held consecutively on the TCAT McMinnville campus, 241 Vo-Tech Drive, McMinnville, on July 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT. Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor Tydings will gather feedback from the campus community and public and then make a recommendation to the Board for a single candidate.

The Tennessee Board of Regents has tentatively scheduled a special called meeting for 2:30 p.m. CT, July 27, to consider the chancellor’s recommendations for appointment of the next presidents of both TCAT McMinnville and Volunteer State Community College.  (Information about the Vol State search is available separately on the TBR website here https://www.tbr.edu/hr/executivesearches/president-volunteer-state-community-college

The Board of Regents meeting will be held virtually, by Microsoft Teams teleconferencing. The meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed and archived on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/july-27-2021-special-called-board-meeting. Former president Warren Laux retired last year. Nathan Garrett, vice president of TCAT Murfreesboro, is serving as interim president until a successor is appointed. The Board of Regents approved the criteria for the next president at its March 25 meeting
