Investment expected to reshape operations and deliver a significant boost to the local economy
Durable Products (DP), a subsidiary of Texas-based GreenLiner, LLC, is expanding operations in Cumberland County through a major renovation of its existing Crossville facilities, according to a release.
The $27.3 million investment is expected to create at least 134 new jobs. It includes refurbishing and retrofitting DP’s current operations to accommodate new machinery, expanded warehousing, additional inventory capacity, and updated office space.
“We are excited to be a new manufacturing company in the great state of Tennessee. TNECD was instrumental in helping us to decide to locate here. We were based in Texas, and now we are happy to call Crossville, Tennessee, home. We appreciate all the hard work from the local and state officials that helped us make this decision,” according to J. Pearson, CEO, Durable Products.
Founded in 1982 in Crossville, DP specializes in compression molding and rubber extrusions, as well as die cutting and raw material processing. Governor Bill Lee says the Volunteer State is committed to ensuring every Tennessean can thrive.
“Today’s announcement underscores what we already know: the Volunteer State is committed to ensuring every Tennessean living in a rural community can thrive. The creation of more than 130 jobs will be transformative for Cumberland County, and I’m grateful to Durable Products’ leadership for selecting Tennessee for this expansion,” said Lee.
A highly competitive project, Tennessee was able to convince DP to stay at home.
“…and we’re grateful that Durable Products continues to recognize our efforts to build a strong, business-friendly climate and a ready, capable workforce. We look forward to supporting the company following today’s announcement and are confident this project will make a lasting impact on the Upper Cumberland region for years to come,” said Deputy Gov. and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter.
Tennessee and the Upper Cumberland have recently attracted and retained many high-quality jobs through their business-friendly environment. Sen. Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) said the expansion will further strengthen the region’s economy.
“With 134 new jobs and a $27.3 million investment in Crossville, this project will strengthen our local economy and provide new opportunities for hardworking families across the Upper Cumberland,” Bailey said.
DP has been an important part of the Crossville economy and community for over four decades.
“Their announcement of an additional 134 new jobs with $27.3 million in new capital investment is exciting news for Cumberland County and Tennessee. I want to thank Durable Products for their continued commitment and investment in our community,” said Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville).
