Planned upgrades aim to modernize the facility, with nearby locations and online services available during the closure
The Crossville Driver Services Center (Cumberland County), located at 136 Dooley Street, will temporarily close for a planned remodel beginning Monday, March 30, according to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security (TDSHS).
“The project is part of the department’s continued effort to improve the overall customer experience and ensure Driver Services Centers across the state are modern, efficient, and comfortable. When the Crossville location reopens, customers can expect a noticeably updated space featuring all new furniture, upgraded equipment, new flooring, and fresh paint throughout the facility,” according to the release.
The TDSHS says it looks to create a more inviting space and support faster, more efficient service for customers with the remodel.
“While the Crossville center is closed, customers still have several convenient options for completing their driver service needs. Many common services are available online, allowing customers to skip the trip altogether and complete transactions from home,” according to the release.
For in-person assistance, customers are encouraged to visit one of the nearby Driver Services Centers: Nearby locations:
- Rockwood Driver Services Center — 1070 N. Gateway Ave.
- Cookeville Driver Services Center — 4600 S. Jefferson Ave.
Both locations will continue to offer a full range of driver services.
“The department understands that temporary closures can be inconvenient and appreciates the community’s patience and flexibility during this time. These upgrades are an investment in better serving residents now and in the future,” according to the release.
