COOKEVILLE – Fresh off its first public outing at last night’s Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber Bizapalooza and Business After Hours event, Academy Sports + Outdoors has opened up hiring – albeit limited – for its new distribution center in Cookeville.
Academy Sports has posted a limited amount of jobs on its website. Officials say hourly position hiring will not start until the fall. Construction of Academy’s 1.6 million-square-foot distribution facility, which is located just outside the new Highlands Business Park on Mine Lick Creek Road, is currently in progress. Academy has said it plans to be operational by early 2016. The company will add roughly 700 jobs by the end of 2020.
