UC Sports Nation Dot Com launches

UPPER CUMBERLAND – High school sports fans now have a new destination to go to in following Upper Cumberland sports with the launch Thursday of UC Sports Nation Dot Com driven by East Tennessee Dodge and East Tennessee Ford. 

The website features extensive content from a team of reporters, videographers, broadcasters and photographers set to cover local high school sports. All sports, both men and women, will be covered. 

“There are amazing athletes and coaches all across the Upper Cumberland that deserve to have their story told,” Stonecom President Larry Stone said. “We are proud to extend our coverage of high school sports to a new level with the very first comprehensive site dedicated to the Upper Cumberland.” 

UC Sports Nation Dot Com coverage will include 15 Upper Cumberland high schools: Cookeville, Clarkrange, Clay County, Cumberland County, Dekalb County, Jackson County, Livingston Academy, Monterey, Pickett County, Stone Memorial, Upperman, Van Buren County, Warren County, White County and York Institute. 

UC Sports Nation Dot Com will take fans inside the game, introducing you to the young men and women who play the game. 

“It’s going to give the high school athletes, their friends and families a chance to learn about what they’re doing, their struggles, and their triumphs,” UC Sports Nation Dot Com Sports Director Justin Matheney said. “That’s not been offered at this level.” 

As part of the launch, UC Sports Nation Dot Com will feature live play-by-play of multiple football games weekly. This coverage will continue into basketball and baseball seasons. Video highlights will be featured as will extensive video galleries. 

In addition, the podcast of Rock 93-7 and News Talk 94.1’s High School Playbook will be available on the site. The show airs each Saturday morning at 9 a.m. live from ChickFil-A on Rock 93-7 as players and coaches join Stone to look back at the games. The Thursday night show on News Talk 94.1 features a preview of the upcoming Friday night games. 

The sports reporting work of local high school students will also be featured at UC Sports Nation Dot Com. Matheney said his team will be recruiting high school students who want to learn sports journalism and have a passion for sports. 

UC Sports Nation Dot Com is a new division of the Stonecom team joining Lite Rock 95.9, 106-9 Kicks Country, Rock 93-7 and News Talk 94.1/AM 1600. It’s part of the team’s commitment to providing the most comprehensive coverage of the news, weather, sports and lifestyle of the Upper Cumberland community.
