The Women Center to host ‘Mams 4 Moms’

COOKEVILLE – The staff at the Women’s Center at Cookeville Regional has a spot reserved for moms. From 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, May 12, mothers may schedule an appointment during the annual “Mams 4 Moms” event, which includes a mammogram, free bone density heel screening, refreshments, and a take-home gift.

This is the seventh year for “Mams 4 Moms.” The Women Center continues to grow and serve patients in the Upper Cumberland and surrounding regions.

“Early detection is key in detecting breast cancer,” said Stephanie Jennings, chief mammographer at the Women’s Center. “Being a mom, I know how we are always giving everything to those we love, but we have to remember to stop and take time for ourselves so we can continue to be there for the ones we love most. This event is just one way to say thank you and Happy Mother’s Day to our moms out there. If you know a mom, whether it’s your own mom, or perhaps a sister, a grandmother, niece or a friend bring her with you, or encourage her to come get a mammogram at this event. If you’re a mom, treat yourself.”

The Women’s Center at Cookeville Regional is the only accredited breast program in the Upper Cumberland and the only breast imaging center in the region to earn the American College of Radiology’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence status. It combines state-of-the-art features with a comfortable atmosphere to take care of all facets of women’s health. The Women’s Center uses the latest technology to make sure patients receive diagnostic services, relying on digital mammography and the accuracy of a stereotactic biopsy. The Women’s Center also offers bone density testing, the most accurate and practical method available in the diagnosis of osteoporosis.

“Make an appointment to come and see us at the Women’s Center for this special event that gives back to our moms,” Jennings said.
