COOKEVILLE – On Feb. 6, the Tennessee Tech Office of Multicultural Affairs will host an event called All We Do is Step, Stoll and Hop?! in Derryberry Auditorium at 11 a.m.
This event kicks off the Black History Month events and focuses on black Greek organizations nationwide.
Rasheed Crowell, a national speaker and member of Omega Psi Phi, is speaking at the event. His speech is centered around building organization and leadership skills while highlighting influential people within black Greek organizations.
“To me, Black History Month is something I try to celebrate all year by remembering all the monumental things people before me have done,” Charria Campbell, Director of Multicultural Affairs, said. “It’s something I try to instill in my students and the people I work with.”
Campbell also said Tech has celebrated Black History on campus for more than 20 years and honors all the contributions African-Americans have had to our university and society.
All Black History Month events put on by the Office of Multicultural Affairs throughout February are free and open to the public.

Sunday, Feb. 16- Gospel Extravaganza at 2:30 p.m. in the Peachtree Learning Center
Tuesday, Feb. 18- “Boss: The Black Experience in Business” at 6:30 p.m. in the Backdoor Playhouse
Sunday, Feb. 23- Impact Banquet at 5 p.m. in the Leslie Town Centre
Tuesday, Feb. 25- “True Justice: Bryan Stevenson’s Fight for Equality” at 6 p.m. in the Oakley STEM Center Auditorium
