COOKEVILLE – The Summer Splash 5k is changing for 2020 to accommodate runners and walkers who want to practice social distancing. This year, the race is going completely virtual, which will allow participants to run/walk any 5k route.
This will allow anyone to participate in the 5k by walking around their neighborhood, or any route of their choosing. The Virtual 5k will take place from June 1 through June 30. Participants may race at any point during the month of June. Registration is only $10 per participant.
The Virtual 5K is still the final race in the Run the Cumberland’s Race series. For details please visit www.RunTheCumberlands.org. The race is being presented once again by Roland Digital Media. We are grateful that they have continued supporting the race and the Cancer Care Fund.
Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Cancer Care Fund at Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation. The race is held in honor and memory of Sarah Alice Bagci. If you choose, you may dedicate your race in memory or honor of a loved one or care provider. The Cancer Care Fund helps Upper Cumberland cancer patients with critical needs like groceries, nutrition supplements, home needs, utilities, transportation, medicine and medical supplies.
