Sports Radio 104.7 joins Stonecom family

UPPER CUMBERLAND – Sports fans across the Upper Cumberland now have a place to hear the biggest games and a place to talk about them – Sports Radio 104.7. 

The brand-new station became the eighth member of the Stonecom Family Thursday morning. The station is available on 104.7 FM and for those with HD radios at 106-9 HD3.  

“We know sports fans in this area are passionate about our local teams,” Stonecom 

President and General Manager Larry Stone. “During all the years doing Titans 

Caravan stops in Cookeville and Crossville, I saw that first-hand. It’s Big Orange Country with a huge love of everything orange. We love our championship high school sports around the region and support the hard work of Tech athletes. Sports Radio 104.7 will serve that passion.”  

The station will be the home to some of the biggest names in sports including the 

Upper Cumberland’s own Jonathan Hutton. The Warren County-native co-hosts Outkick 360, afternoons 2-5 p.m. on Sports Radio 104.7. Hutton has become one of Nashville’s brightest young sports reporters.  

Hutton will join Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen on the daytime schedule. Sports Radio 104.7 will also present the final hour of Paul Finebaum’s daily show each weekday at 5pm. The show airs on News Talk 94.1 weekdays from 3-5 p.m.  

Sports Radio 104.7 will also be the home to the biggest games in sports featuring the return of SEC Saturday, an all-day college football event each week. The station will present NFL’s Sunday, Monday and Thursday night football as well as Sunday doubleheaders. Mid-week Memphis Grizzlies games will be part of the station, as well as Hoops Madness games of the week and the NCAA Basketball Tournament. 

The station will also be the exclusive home of Sparta’s own Kellie Harper and the Lady Vols when the hoops season kicks off in weeks.  

“We also look forward to launching more local high school programming and updates as part of UC Sports Nation,” Stone said. “This will be a real sports station combining the best of local, state and national coverage.”  

That includes Doug Mathews’ Big Orange Sunday which will air each Sunday morning, Titans Tonight featuring the Voice of the Titans Mike Keith each Wednesday and Big Orange Hotline featuring the Voice of the Vols Bob Kesling each Tuesday.  

Sports Radio 104.7 joins 96-9 Highway 111 Country as new stations launched in the last three weeks. Highway 111 Country features the true country songs of the 1990s as well as true country of the 80s, 00s, and 10s from Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Brooks and Dunn, George Strait and Alan Jackson. “If it ain’t country, we don’t play it on 96-9 Highway 111 Country,” said a statement by the station.  

Stonecom also operates 93-3 The Dawg, News Talk 94.1/AM 1600, Lite Rock 95.9, Rock 93-7, 106-9 Kicks Country and 920/101.9 WLIV. The company also serves Upper Cumberland high school athletes through UCSportsNation.Com.
