Lavergne Plant set close July 31, Warren County plant to remain open

The Bridgestone plant in Lavergne will shut down for “economic reasons,” according to Newschannel 5 in Nashville.

However, the Warren County plant will remain in operation, according to Nick Beres of Newschannel 5. The LaVergne plant opened in 1971 and employs about 700 people.

“County Mayor Joe Carr confirms to me he just learned the tire manufacturing plant will indeed close and lay off those employees,” according to a post by Beres on Facebook. “I’m told the plant in Warren County, TN will continue operations.  For years, the LaVergne plant was a source of stable, well-paying jobs churning out millions of Bridgestone tires.”

The plant is set close July 31, according to the report.
