Could be 90 days before Crossville brings Public Relations prospects to meeting

Crossville – According to officials, it could be 90 days before the city of Crossville will bring the idea of a public relations firm about the proposed “swim center” back to meeting.

Since the proposal of a “swim center” and the subsequent bond acquisition proposal to fund it was announced months ago, the public outcry for a referendum on the project has been deafening. The call for a referendum on the project has been a regular occurrence at city meetings. Some discussions on the future of a referendum have been discussed, but nothing has been voted on or approved.

Last month, the council held a meeting to discuss possible public relations options for the proposed “swim center.” According to sources, “Sticker shock” may be having an effect on the process, and a decision whether or not to move forward with the project would determine any movement on a PR program.

City officials told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal they would only hear PR proposals if they decided to move forward with the project. At that point a price tag could be attached.

In other Cumberland County news, terminal renovations are underway at the airport.
